Flight Simulator Experiences for Sebring, Florida
Sebring has been an aviation town since the B-17s. Our flight simulator is in Tampa, about 70 miles away, where you can fly Sebring Regional, the Gulf coast or any airport in the world. $40 for 60 minutes, no experience needed.
Where The Simulator Is
Academy Sim Lounge, 1421 Massaro Blvd, Tampa, FL 33619. There is no Academy flight simulator in Sebring or Highlands County. Book online and drive over, it's about 70 miles in a straight line from Sebring.
This is a flight simulator experience for fun. It is not an FAA-approved simulator, our staff are not flight instructors, and time on it can't be logged or count toward a pilot license.

From B-17 Base To Race Track
Sebring Regional Airport started life as Hendricks Field, a World War II training base for B-17 Flying Fortress crews.
The first B-17s arrived in January 1942, and at its busiest the field handled thousands of takeoffs and landings a week. The base closed at the end of 1945 and was handed to the City of Sebring in 1946.
A few years later the old runways found a second life. The first sports car endurance race was run on the airfield on New Year's Eve 1950, and the first 12 Hours of Sebring followed in 1952. Sebring International Raceway still sits right next to the airport today.
Can You Fly Into Sebring Regional Airport In A Flight Simulator?
Yes. Sebring Regional (KSEF) is in our simulator's worldwide airport database, so you can take off from it or fly in and land.
The real airport has two runways, 01/19 and 14/32, and no control tower. Here are a few ways to spend your hour there. These are simulated flights for fun, not flight training.
- A lap around Sebring. Take off in a Cessna 172, circle the airport and the raceway next door, and land.
- Sebring to Tampa. Fly the route you just drove, then land at Tampa International or Peter O. Knight.
- Raceway flyover. Bring the F/A-18 Super Hornet low over the track, then climb out in afterburner.
- Try it in bad weather. Same airport at sunset, at night or in a storm. Switch any time.
See every aircraft on the planes page and the other ways to fly on the experiences page.
Here For The Racing?
Academy also works in Sebring on the racing side. We built and installed a racing simulator at Sebring Motor Garages & Townhomes, a private clubhouse amenity for its members. That one is a racing sim, not a flight sim, and it isn't open to the public.
If you drive the track, our Sebring corner-by-corner guide and the Tampa racing lounge are the racing side of the same building as the flight sim. You can book both on the same visit.
